Brock Fahrni came to the University of British Columbia in 1952 as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine. He became the founding Director of UBC's School of Rehabilitation Medicine in 1961 and served in this capacity until his retirement in 1978. He was renowned for his radical approach to geriatrics and spent much of his life challenging traditional myths about the aging process.
